This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade - Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska following the meeting with the leadership of the Directorate-General for Trade of the European Commission.

“We have discussed the European Commission's support for Ukraine's export promotion initiatives. That is, it is a new plan to provide technical assistance to Ukraine, ”the sales representative of Ukraine said. Mykola noted that one of the priorities of this plan is to promote the economic development of Ukraine, where the main issue is the development of Ukrainian exports to the EU.

“This is very important for us, in particular in the context of the Government's adoption and approval of the Ukrainian Export Strategy. For the European Commission, it is also a signal that exports are a priority for the government, and there is a concrete vision for five years what to do, ”the Ukrainian government official said. Mykola stressed that such a policy of the Ukrainian government is positively assessed by the European Commission.

"We hope that this new plan will be implemented at the points envisaged in the export strategy," the sales representative of Ukraine added.

Among potential areas where Ukraine can increase exports to the EU, Nikolskaya noted agro-processing and food, machinery, aircraft and aircraft services, information and communication technologies, as well as the creative industries sector.

"From the moment of the temporary application of the FTA agreement, according to customs statistics, the number of Ukrainian companies operating in the EU market has doubled," Mykola stressed.
