European Commission approved a new Regulation of the EU Commission 2020/573 of April 24 on April 24, 2020, on the establishment of import duties on grain, which entered into force on April 27, 2020.

The fact that import duties on corn (1007 10 90, 1007 90 00), sorghum (1005 10 90, 1005 90 00) and rye (1002 10 00, 1002 90 00) have been increased to 5.27 euros per tonne is an important change for Ukrainian exporters to the EU.

The automatic mechanism for calculating import duties was launched due to sufficient supply and low prices for corn in other world markets.
